Groomer's Biography

  Our Groomer: Sarah Broström

Besides being an animal lover, here are some things you may not have known about me… I really enjoy music.  Most people who know me would say that at any moment I hear music, a dance will follow. I am pretty spontaneous.  I love to travel when given the opportunity.  I have traveled much of the Caribbean and would really love to explore Europe.

I have been an athlete all my life.  I played fast pitch softball and volleyball ever since I was little.  Softball was always my first priority.  I was a pitcher and second basemen from age 5 until I graduated college.  My most proud moment of softball was during my senior year of high school, helping to get to the State Championship.  I was named MVP of that game and will never forget how that felt.

During my down time, I enjoy making jewelry.  I make everything from bracelets to doggy necklaces. I show my jewelry at arts and crafts festivals.  Doggy necklaces are my favorite to make since every one is unique and custom made for the dog.  Many clients will ask to make matching jewelry for themselves after ordering a necklace for their dog.

I am a very social person, and love to be around people. I own two dogs; Camden (Australian cattle dog mix) and Beans (Cockapoo). I don’t go many places without them.  Therefore, in our spare time, we enjoy camping out doors, fishing, kayaking and taking ski trips. I also love to cook and be with friends. Relaxing and enjoying good weather is the best medicine.

Groomer Background & Experience

I have been grooming dogs for seven years, and am familiar with all breeds and styles. I began my grooming career in 2002 when I started working for Petsmart as a bather.  I was required to learn the different breeds of canine and the difference in their hair and coat types by bathing them, clipping their nails, stripping their undercoat, cleaning their ears, and brushing them out.  After about six months of bathing I was sent to groom school learned the grooming trade and was certified in 2004.  Shortly after my certification, I started working at an animal hospital. In the six years of grooming there, I advanced my knowledge and skills by grooming sedated animals, cats, and medicated bath and special treatments.  I am skilled with all hair types and styles on just about every breed.  In addition, I am experienced with hair dye, and spa treatments including massage therapy.

If you have any special requests for your dog’s groom, I am more than happy to accommodate those as well and answer any questions you may have.  I believe that the relationship between your pet and their groomer is very important.  That’s why I do my best to provide a personable experience for you and your pet.
